350,000 on the streets in Australia! What do we do next? With Federal climate policy going backwards, it's time to look toward State and local action.
We have an urgent task - getting to zero emissions as fast as possible.
And that means moving beyond coal, and a just transition as we move into a clean economy. The school strikers have clear demands - no new coal or gas (including thee Adani mine), getting to zero ASAP, and decent clean jobs.
Speakers, panel discussion and workshop
Jane Stabb, Environment Victoria's Organiser extraordinaire will bring us a perspective on how we can reduce emissions and support increased Victorian climate ambition. Leigh Ewbank, FOE's organising legend, brings a perspective from a decade of successful wind, gas and renewables campaigns. Our panel will outline current campaigns to move beyond coal, get to zero and support the State based targets.
After a panel discussion we will be putting our heads together on local, do-able projects and how we can support big picture change.
This event is about listening to our allies, re-imagining a clean future, and helping to make this future tangible in our local area.
